Do you remember that scene in "Clueless" where Cher uses her futuristic outfit-choosing computer to find the perfect look for school? Remember how cool that thing was and how badly you wanted one of your own? Well, Amazon is here to make all of your teenage dreams come true, thanks to its new Outfit Compare feature.
In the online marketplace's continuing quest to make its subscription service the best one out there, Amazon Prime customers can now get real-time sartorial advice from legitimate stylists with careers in the fashion industry. Using Outfit Compare couldn't get much simpler; all you have to do is upload two photos of you wearing different outfits and Amazon takes care of the rest.
n the time it takes you to make your morning cup of coffee, you should have a response from one of Amazon's stylists telling you which outfit to go with. Using what I can only assume is a very elaborate Amazon algorithm, your outfits are judged based on how they look on you, the colors and styles, their trendiness and how they're styled together.
If you aren't completely sold on the advice you get from Outfit Compare, just check the sliding style scale rating that comes with your results. This feature tells you how adamant the stylist is about their decision. Some comparisons might result in a close call, while others prompt responses more along the lines of, "definitely pick this one!"
Amazon Prime subscribers can find Outfit Compare under the "Programs and Features" tab on the Amazon app. Since real stylists are comparing your outfits (instead of a bot), the feature is pretty lax about the photos you upload. All Amazon asks is that the background and lighting are similar in each picture. And yes, you can use mirror pics.
Watch out, Cher Horowitz; pretty soon we'll all be rocking perfectly styled outfits, thanks to technology.
