At what age do you officially outgrow trick-or-treating? Is it when you enter high school? When you turn 18? Not until you have kids of your own, perhaps? There isn't a hard and fast rule, but let's face it: Turning up at your neighbor's door and asking for candy among all the kiddos is strange, even if you are dressed in your best Halloween costume.
Adults want to trick-or-treat, too! Maybe candy is a bit of an immature treat to ask for, but Chaddsford Winery may have solved all of our sad adult Halloween problems: The Pennsylvania staple is throwing 21+ Adult Trick-or-Treating events every weekend between Sept. 28 and Oct. 27 where, instead of candy, you'll be treated to wine and seasonal, age-appropriate snacks.
Chaddsford will be decorated with appropriate decor while guests explore the grounds, stopping at Halloween-themed stations rife with adult bevvies that include an apple wine pumpkin slushie garnished with a Halloween peep, a Leviathan wine cocktail and the winery's house red.
Food pairings are even more seasonally delightful. They include a "mummies' tomb" hummus trio, crab mac 'n' cheese and a “dirt” cupcake, obviously with a gummy worm on top.
Tickets cost $25 per person online, and yes, costumes are encouraged.
