To all the restaurants who believe they go above and beyond to decorate for the holidays, I salute your efforts. You tried, but it doesn't come close to what 34 Mayfair in London has done.
The restaurant decided to unveil its "Miracle at 34" Christmas installation in October, a bit earlier than normal to lift spirits after a year of, well, gloom.
Adorning the walls and ceiling are roughly 14,000 decorations, including 8,400 baubles designed by renowned florist Jane Wadham.
The U.K.'s month-long pandemic lockdown was lifted last week, so patrons of the restaurant can now enjoy some white truffle and fontina pizza or rotisserie roast chicken and truffle mash. #Truffleforthewin
Me? I'd be happy sipping on a glass of their Nyetimber bubbly and staring at the ceiling:
Through December the restaurant is serving the Nyetimber GoldenBell dessert, a dark chocolate bell with edible gold powder (notice the sprinkle in the photo). It's filled with dark chocolate mousse and a Nyetimber and cherry compote filling and served with cherry sauce, cherry crispies, jelly cubes of Nyetimber and mint.
